Knowledge and Skills:

Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, networking, endpoint support, cybersecurity or IT service management certifications will be an added advantage. Relevant certifications for consideration: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation, Cisco CCNA, Fortinet NSE/FCA. or equivalent recognised certifications. Service desk and end-user support, including logging, categorising, prioritising, escalating and resolving ICT incidents and service requests. Microsoft desktop and productivity support, including Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and basic user configuration. User account support, including password resets, account lockouts, group membership support, Exchange mailbox support, access requests and basic Active Directory/EntraID user administration. Remote desktop support, including remote troubleshooting, assisting users telephonically or online, guiding users through technical issues and resolving common workstation and application problems remotely. Workstation and endpoint support, including installation, configuration, imaging, updates, patching, antivirus/endpoint protection, hardware troubleshooting and peripheral support. ICT security awareness, including safe handling of passwords, phishing awareness, endpoint protection, access control, MFA, data protection and reporting of suspected security incidents. Hardware and software support, including desktops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, operating systems and standard departmental applications. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support users at different levels, including facility users, administrative users, technical staff and senior management. Customer service orientation, wit the ability to remain calm, professional and helpful when assisting users experiencing technical problems. Documentations and reporting skills, including updating tickets, keeping support records, documenting resolutions and reporting recurring issues. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including assisting with ICT rollouts, equipment’s deployment, stock control, site visits and technical projects.

Duties:

Network and User Identity Administration: Provide first-line and second-line ICT support to users, including service desk support, end -user support, workstation support, application support and remote desktop support. Assist with user identity administration, user creation, including password resets, antivirus, account lockouts, access support, mailbox support and Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID user-related requests. Adhere to departmental security policy and ICT standards. Project rollout: Assist with ICT project rollouts, including but not limited to: equipment deployment, software rollouts, network-related support, user migration, technology refresh projects and facility support. Assist with workstation setup, software installation, operating system updates, endpoint protection, patching and basic device compliance support. Research and testing: Assist with testing of new software, hardware, systems, updates and ICT solutions before wider implementation. Workstation and network support: Provide remote support to users through approved remote desktop tools, telephone support, support online assistance. Support Microsoft 365 service, including but not limited to: Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and departmental-specific applications and user productivity issues.
