Job Purpose
The CSA/Driver is responsible for assembling of flights, equipment checking, delivering meals, beverages, and catering equipment to aircraft, ensuring timely and accurate handover to cabin crew in line with client specifications. This role requires strict adherence to aviation safety protocols, hygiene standards, and operational schedules.Principal Accountabilities
- All CSA/Drivers are to adhere to the companies’ code of conduct and to ensure that the correct PPE is used whilst on duty
- Collect loading schedule from Operations to determine loading and delivery according to the Airline Client schedule.
- Book radio and vehicle and perform the vehicle inspection according to company procedure/checklist
- Collect flight equipment/meals trolleys, bins, bars, ice commence with loading of truck according to flight schedules and aircraft configurations.
- Transport trolleys to Aircraft, strip aircraft from used equipment and load trolleys according to aircraft load configuration and ensure flight controllers sign meal declaration forms.
- Perform safety check and operate hydraulic hoist system to align the cab with the aircraft according to procedure.
- Transport used equipment to sanitation and Bars back to the Unit for recycling according to departmental procedure.
- Report problems with vehicle and hand over to the shift manager according to organisational requirements.
- Ensure that work areas are clean according to HACCP requirements.
- Ensure communication between drivers and Operations is maintained throughout the shift.
- Confirm check sheet with control sheet with flight controllers to ensure that all information reconcile according to client specification.
- Assemble trolleys and ovens according to the check and control sheet and ensure adherence to menu specifications.
- Attend to and assemble special meal requests according to client specification.
- Assemble equipment according to flight specification to ensure adherence to client specification and flight requirements.
- Ensure that Bar Trolleys are available according to flight specification.
- Hand over flight (Assembled trolleys – according to client specification) according to client request by presenting the assembly to ensure the crew validate content and menu specification according to procedure.
- Confirm hand over with the ramp agent to ensure adherence to client requirements.
- Observe and report deviances/problems during handover to the shift manager according to organisational requirements. Operate a vehicle according to operating procedures and ACSA requirements.
- Complies with all requirements related to security, SHEQ, HACCP, food safety regulations and operational policies and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 (NQF level 4) / equivalent
- Valid code 10 and PDP.
- 3 years’ experience in in-flight loading.
- Practical training on aircraft types and load configurations.
- Must be willing to undergo training on ACSA ramp safety standards and security regulations.
- Must be willing to undergo internal food safety and HACCP training
