We are on the lookout for passionate Driversalesman. The roles will be based in Burgersfort and report to the Depot Controller. The main purpose of the role is daily off-loading of customers deliveries with vehicles in the prescribed manner.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • Drivers Licence
  • PDP
  • Sales Experience 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Check Sheets / Report Faults
  •  Ensure that before you leave premises that you complete truck check list
  •  Ensure you report any faults found on your truck during the day to the supervisor
  •  Ensure you filled your truck with diesel before you return to the branch and you hand diesel slip in.
  • Stock
  • Ensure product is in good condition.
  • Do not offload any damaged product – return to the branch and inform supervisor.
  • Confirm stock using a loading list before departure 
  • Sign off Departure time before leaving the premises.
  • Offload stock at delivery point as per invoice. Confirm stock before departure 
  • Collect all Safety equipements before truct departure                                                                                                                                                                             

Cash

  • Collect cash from customer.
  • Double check cash before leaving the store.
  • Check instruction on Invoice and ensure cash / cheque or account.
  • Confirm cash before cashing-up
  • Drop cash in safe immediately when back at truck.
  • Check money collected and complete cash up sheet.                         
  • Deposit money in cash up bag in the FNB DBA machine

Safe Work Procedures

  • Protective clothing: Keep clean and in good repair. 
  • DO NOT drive truck if it is unsafe to do so.
  • Make sure you have full tanks when you return to the branch.
  • Make sure you have your driving license with you; it is a criminal offence to drive without it.
  • Do not exceed speed limits – 60 km/hour in town and 80 km/hour on the open road Hijack – Watch out for suspicious looking people. Do not give lifts, do not stop for hitchhikers. Do not leave truck unattended and do not leave the key in the ignition while you offload.

  • Ensure that you greet the customer in a friendly way.
  • Ensure that you present your documents.
  • Ensure you listen carefully to what they want from you.
  • Ensure that you handle the products with care 
  • Ensure you check the products in conjunction with the customer.
  • Ask if there is anything else you can do for the customer.
  • Ensure that all returns are uplifted with all the necessary documentation
  • Make a note of the complaint, the time and the date and which customer complained. This should be handed in everyday on your return from deliveries.
  • Ensure that you thank the customer and bid him farewell.

Timekeeping

  • Ensure you clock in at start and end of your shift.
  • In the event of ill health, ensure you inform your supervisor well before the time with valid reason. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
  • Dress Code
  • Always wear correct dress code.
  • Ensure your uniform is clean and neat at all times.
