Key Duties and Responsibilities
As an Accountant at Pedros, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic growth. Key responsibilities include:
- Team Supervision: Oversee the Reporting team to ensure high reporting accuracy before submission to the Financial Reporting Manager.
- Financial Management: Lead financial reporting, manage operating capital, implement SOPs, and enhance internal financial controls.
- Accounts Handling: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Tax & Compliance: Ensure full tax compliance and adherence to statutory regulations.
- Audits & Financial Statements: Manage the audit process and ensure the timely completion of financial statements.
- Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Manage budgets and conduct detailed variance analyses, including store budgets.
- Store Accounting: Review store management accounts for approximately 35 stores.
- VAT Calculations: Review VAT calculations and submit them to the Financial Manager for review.
- Payments & Reconciliations: Ensure accurate review of payments, timely submissions, and Fixed Asset Register (FAR) reviews based on physical verifications.
Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Tertiary Financial Management or Accounting qualification.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role (preference for FMCG, Fast Food, or Retail sectors).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Full MS Office suite and hands-on experience with Sage 50 / Pastel Evolution (or similar accounting software).
- Licence & Mobility: Valid Code 8 Driver’s License with an own vehicle.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong understanding of corporate finance functions with a hands-on approach.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
