Role Summary 

The Receptionist is responsible for answering phones, receiving and directing visitors, booking consulting rooms, assist with admissions and assist with ad-hoc administrative functions as required.

Key Work Output And Accountabilities

  • Co-ordination of diaries for various professionals.
  • Room bookings and co-ordination.
  • Assist with taking of payments.
  • Accurate liaison with nursing department regarding patient matters.
  • Ensure seamless patient flow to practitioners.
  • Answer telephone calls.
  • Assist with general administration duties.
  • Direct the public to correct areas in the clinic.
  • Provide information regarding programmes and services at the clinic.
  • Deal with admissions, walk-in queries and pre-authorisations.
  • Must be willing to work evening shifts, weekend shifts and public holiday shifts.

Skills profile (Education)

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification

Work experience

  • Previous Reception Experience

Knowledge

  • Computer literacy

  • Internal and external customers include patients, doctors, colleagues, suppliers, visitors, vendors and any other person that requires a relationship
