Key Performance Areas
As a Debtors Clerk at Curro Kathu, your core responsibilities will include:
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicating effectively with parents, learners, corporate clients, and internal organizational stakeholders.
- Accounts Receivable Management: Accurately capturing and verifying accounts receivable data.
- Billing & Statements: Preparing and processing invoices and learner statements.
- Ledger Reconciliation: Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger.
- Debt Collection: Managing debt recovery from overdue clients (parents and third-party institutions), directly contacting accounts in arrears, and maintaining all related correspondence.
- Reporting: Generating management reports on accounts receivable and overdue accounts for executive review.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a debtors’ clerk, including hands-on debt collection.
- Core Knowledge: A solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Technical Skills: Experience operating spreadsheets and navigating specialized accounting software.
- Personal Attributes: High degree of accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of identifying issues and initiating corrective action.
- Work Ethic: Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Compliance & Vetting: Must adhere to the Curro code of ethics and pass a compulsory criminal record check.
